Become a Volunteer at Festival23!

Creating Chances, Football United and its partners UNSW, Common Goal, FIFA, and Football Australia, are pleased to invite you to register to be a Volunteer during Festival23 in Sydney, Australia in August 2023.

Festival23 is an international youth festival held during the quarter-final stage of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, welcoming 70 Young Leader Delegates (aged 18-30) from more than 30 countries, to realise the biggest social legacy of the FIFA Women’s World Cup!

Volunteers at Festival23

You will support all areas of the Festival, and have the opportunity to engage with and support remarkable young people from around the world. Your involvement is crucial in making the Festival a great success!

Volunteers will support Festival23 between July 31 and August 14*

*you will not necessarily be required to be available every day! You will have the opportunity to provide your availability in the application form. 

Festival23 Program

There will be lots going on during Festival23, so please take a look at the schedule to understand the types of activities during the 8-day extravaganza. 

 All Festival23 activities will be based in the Greater Sydney area.

  • The purpose of this role is to provide logistical & coordination support at our Community Gala Days, the Festival23 Tournament, Football for Good Forum, and the Cultural and Sightseeing Excursions held off-site during Festival23.

  • The purpose of this role is to support the planning, production, and distribution of content to tell stories and raise awareness of Festival23 activities, partnerships, and impact.

  • The purpose of this role is to assist all Festival23 activities based at Sydney Academy of Sport & Recreation, Narrabeen

  • The purpose of this role is to achieve the best possible transport service for various stakeholders and to ensure the unhindered operation of the venue by enabling efficient access by all constituent groups.

  • The purpose of this role is to provide a secure and safe environment during the festival ensuring relevant services are available to support participant health and wellbeing.

Volunteer FAQs

When is Festival23?

Formally, Sun 6 August until Sunday 13 August 2023.

Volunteers will be expected to support the festival from 31 July until 14 August (you will not necessarily be required to be available every day between this timeframe! You will have the opportunity to provide your availability in the application form).

Where will Festival23 be held?

Festival23 will be held at the Sydney Academy of Sport & Recreation Centre in Narrabeen, NSW, and at various other locations in Greater Sydney, NSW.

Who can join as a Volunteer?

Festival23 Volunteer requirements include:

  • A valid Volunteer Working with Children Check (WWCC)

  • A COVID Digital Vaccination Certificate

  • 16 years + (must have parental consent if under 18)
